United Cup Overview

 

SCHEDULE

  • The fourth edition of United Cup will be held from Fri 02 Jan 2026 – Sun 11 Jan 2026.
  • The group stage matches in Perth (RAC Arena) will run from Fri 02 Jan 2026 – Tue 06 Jan 2026. The Quarter Finals in Perth will be held on Wed 07 Jan 2026.
  • The group stage matches in Sydney (Ken Rosewall Arena) will run from Sat 03 Jan 2026 – Wed 07 Jan 2026. The Quarter Finals in Sydney will be held across Thu 08 and Fri 09 Jan 2026.
  • Sydney will host two Semi Finals on Sat 10 Jan 2026, followed by the United Cup Final on Sun 11 Jan 2026.
  • Teams travelling from Perth to Sydney will have a travel and rest day before their Semi Final match.

QUALIFICATION

  • 18 countries in total will qualify for the United Cup.
  • At the entry deadline on 12 Nov 2025 at 8:00 AM (AEDT), ten countries will qualify via the 5 highest-ranked men and 5 highest-ranked women entered, per their PIF ATP and WTA rankings.
  • At the same entry deadline, 6 teams will qualify according to the best combined ranking of the highest-ranked men’s and women’s players from the same country. The 7th and 8th highest combined entry teams’ status will be pending until the second qualification date.
  • At the second qualification date of 17 Nov 2025, if there is a player in the Top 10 (maximum 1 ATP and 1 WTA player) of the latest PIF ATP or WTA rankings who has entered and has an eligible team, but has not been accepted based on their individual ATP/WTA ranking, they will be accepted, and their team will replace the lowest ranked team of the 7th and/or 8th combined ranking teams.
  • Australia is guaranteed entry, either directly via ranking or as a wildcard.

FORMAT – GROUP STAGE

  • The United Cup official draw will be held on 17 Nov 2025 at 12:00 PM (AEDT).
  • Each city will host nine teams. The group stage matches will consist of three groups of three countries, competing round-robin style.
  • Each session will comprise of three matches: one men’s single match, one women’s singles match and one mixed doubles match. Both singles matches will feature the No.1 ranked single player within the team.
  • Singles matches are the best of three tie-break sets.
  • Mixed doubles matches are the best of two tie-break sets with a deciding match tie-break (10 point) at one set all.

FORMAT – FINALS

  • Group winners in each city advance to the Quarter Finals, with one Quarter Final spot in each city awarded to the best runner up in that city.
  • Winners will progress to the Semi Finals and Final to be played in Sydney.
  • All final matches will be played in the same format at the group stage matches: one men’s single, one women’s single and one mixed double match per final.
