Some of the world’s biggest tennis stars – Félix Auger-Aliassime, Victoria Mboko, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari – will return to Australia early this summer, giving fans the first chance to see them in action at United Cup 2027, the unique mixed-team competition played exclusively on Australian soil.
Tickets are on sale today for the event hosted across Perth and Sydney from 1-10 January 2027. Returning for its fifth edition, the United Cup is the first blockbuster tennis tournament of the Australian summer. It combines men's and women's singles with mixed doubles matches, as some of the best players come together from across the globe in pursuit of national glory.
Top-ranked superstars Auger-Aliassime and Mboko will join forces for Team Canada for the second time at the event.
The explosive, power-hitting Auger-Aliassime reached a career-high world No.4 in June off the back of quarterfinal appearances at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year.
“I’m excited to start the new year in Australia at the United Cup,” said Auger-Aliassime. “I’m looking forward to seeing the draw and finding out whether Team Canada will be heading to Perth or Sydney.”
Twenty-year-old Mboko is one of global tennis’ most exciting young talents. Her meteoric rise saw her climb from world No.337 in January 2025 into the world’s top 10 in just over a year.
“It’s an honour to represent Canada again at the United Cup,” said WTA rising star Mboko. “The United Cup is a unique event, and I’m proud to represent my country and compete alongside my teammates.”
Cult hero Tsitsipas and powerhouse Sakkari join forces for Team Greece following a resurgent year that has seen them each individually climb up the world rankings from 88 to 33 and 52 to 30 respectively.
“We’re excited to be back playing at the United Cup again to represent our country,” said Sakkari. “It’s such a different experience to other tournaments and the fans really get behind the format and create an incredible atmosphere.”
Team Greece are a form pairing to watch, with Tsitsipas winning the ATP 250 EFG Swiss Open Gstaad and Sakkari reaching the final of the WTA 250 Vanda Pharmaceuticals Athens Open on the same day earlier this year.
“Seeing us both in finals on the same day was a special moment for Greek tennis,” Tsitsipas said. “We’ve shared many milestones over the years and this is just the beginning of another exciting chapter. We can’t wait to see what we can do together at the United Cup.
“One of the best things is the team environment. You’re not just out there competing for yourself; you’re also on the sidelines cheering, bringing the energy and supporting your teammates. There’s nothing quite like it.”
United Cup Tournament Director Stephen Farrow said the early commitment of Team Canada and Team Greece is an exciting way to launch the United Cup and the Summer of Tennis.
“Auger-Aliassime, Mboko, Tsitsipas and Sakkari sets the tone for what’s to come. They’re four of the game’s most talented players, and we can’t wait to welcome more of the world’s best to Perth and Sydney this summer,” Farrow said.
“The atmosphere in the crowd at the United Cup is absolutely electric. We’re super excited to see ‘tennis turned up’ at all matches this summer.”
NSW Minister for Jobs and Tourism Steve Kamper said the United Cup has become a highlight of Sydney’s summer sporting calendar.
“It brings the world’s best tennis players to our city and gives fans the chance to see world-class tennis up close,” Kamper said.
“Major events like the United Cup showcase Sydney to the world, attract visitors, support local businesses and reinforce NSW’s reputation as a premier destination for international sport. We look forward to welcoming players and fans from around the globe to the Harbour City.”
Acting WA Tourism Minister and Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti said 2027 is shaping up to be another exciting year for tennis in Western Australia, with some of the world’s best players competing at RAC Arena.
“Bringing The United Cup back to Perth for a fourth consecutive year reinforces our state’s ability to host major international sporting events and showcase Western Australia to the world,” Saffioti said.
The full list of countries and players for 2027, including Team Australia, will be revealed following the tournament’s official draw in mid-November. The Aussie battle to secure the women’s singles spot continues, with Kimberly Birrell and Talia Gibson vying for the opportunity. Whoever earns selection will make their United Cup debut.
Tickets for all United Cup sessions are on sale today via Ticketmaster in Sydney and Ticketek in Perth, with group stage tickets and finals tickets from $45.
